bug install

Hello everybody!
In french before the english :

J'ai essayé d'installer le logiciel mais on me met une erreur : impossible d'ouvrir le package, vérifiez qu'il existe et que vous êtes autorisé à y accéder.
Je suis sous Vista. J'ai tenté le mode administrateur mais rien n'y fait.

I tried to install the setup but I've got an error. "not able to open the package, make sure you have the autorisation to access."
I'm running under Vista. I tried to run the setup as administrator but It does not work more.

Thanks for your help and sorry if I made some mistakes in the english part.

Sildar

Re: bug install

Hello sildar,
This thread ( http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=12856 ) named 'Vista: How to get BOINC & WCG(UD) Agents Running' might be helpful. The most important thing is to install into C:\BOINC rather than C:\Program Files.

Re: bug install

I'm experiencing problems with the united device version, so I'm trying to reinstall the Boinc.

I tried to execut it on administrator, with XP compatibility... nothing works.

The Wizard stop when "configuring windows installer" with the error message I put before.
So, I cannot choose the folder.

Thanks for your help and sorry for being bad in my english.

Hello sildar,
Are you using the install package from BOINC ( http://boinc.berkeley.edu/download.php ) or from WCG ( http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/reg/ms/viewDownloadBoinc.do?newMember=false ) ?

Re: bug install

Sorry, Finally, you're link was very helpful.
I reinstalled the UD in another folder and it seems to work well.
I still don't understand why the Boinc does not work but I think it does not matter.

Sorry for not having done some research but it's really difficult for a foreigner to navigate in these threads.

Thanks for your help.

Sildar (I chose this name because I thought it sounds well in english as it does in french.... am I right? biggrin )

EDIT : I was using the WCG's.

Re: bug install

Sildar makes me think of elven names from Tolkien's Lord of the Rings.

Good luck! I hope that we will have this problem with BOINC solved soon.
