quad core support

hi i recently joined as you may see, i am using the united devices client,

i have a intel Q6600 quad core 2.4ghz cpu when the client is running it is only using one core at 80% is ther a way that i can make it use all 4 cores at 100%?

The UD agent will only use one core. If you want to use all 4, then you will need to convert to BOINC.

To utilise all 4 cores you need to download the BOINC client - you will need to do this anyway as the UD client will become obsolete here soon.

If you use the recommended BOINC client available form WCG HERE (version 5.10.22) it will automatically remove the UD client when it installs.

OK thanks, seems odd that one supports more then one core and the other doesn't

foxem2001,

Not so given that the maker, United Devices now UnivaUD, fell thru on its promise to develop a multi-core version of the agent, instead they pulled the plug and simultaneous shut down their own volunteer Grid Computing project without finishing the Cancer Research project.
