work disappeared?

when I went to bed last night, current work unit had been running for about 24 hours and was 33% done. 6 hours later, I had a new work unit, and it had been running for nearly 3 hours. I know that if I'd been using my computer intensively all day, the Grid Agent would pick up speed when I closed the other programs. But nothing would have made a difference to get 2+ days remaining work done in 3 hours? Besides I hadn't done much intensive work to have slowed things down much in the first place.

Has anyone noticed this happen before? Could the agent have aborted and reloaded a new unit? I know there's some variation in performance speed during the unit, but it's one hell of a fluke if that's why the first 33% took 16x longer than successive 33% chunks.

Not worried, just curious.

cool Re: work disappeared?

Surprises like this have been mentioned before, though not in as much detail as you gave. Definitely out of the ordinary. ???
