The evil witch came by last night while i wasshut-eye and hazed my crystal ball. You have to tell us alot more of the problem machines howit behaved before versus now and provide us copy of the startup message log and the content of the global_prefs.xml / global_prefs_override.xml.
----------------------------------------Seeing you posted same in the HCC forum, please delete that post and i'll ask for this to be moved to the BOINC support forum. ttyl Added: Also look in the client_state.xml and find the <Duration Correction Factor> and <on_frac> values

You said,
----------------------------------------"...Seeing you posted same in the HCC forum, please delete that post and i'll ask for this to be moved to the BOINC support forum....." I tried to delete it and was unsuccessful. I looked in the BOINC Support forum and do not see that it has been moved. I must say to you, there are a great many of us out here who are thrilled at the opportunity to participate in worthwhile projects with our computer time, instead of just doing work and mp3 downloads. But that does not mean that we are so technically proficient as to know immediately the meaning and direction of what is for us but not for you arcane jargon. You need to tell us exactly what you want and where to find it and we will certainly attempt to help solve our problems. I participate on many forums on computer issues. In many cases, Mozillazine, Winamp, Windows Community, they had this problem in the past and have become much more user friendly. I mean no disrespect and I am looking for help. I don't think that it serves any purpose for the grid community to be just an elite core of technologists. I am a cancer patient, I was first on the project at Oxford, and then on the last project at WCG. I want to be on the new cancer project. Tell me what I need to get for you. This computer is running Vista Business, 2gig dual core processor, 120 gigs of strorage, 2 gig of DRAM. |

mitrichr. there is nothing wrong.
Your only problem is that you are attached to so many projects that World Community Grid doesn't often get a look in. |

Thanks so much for your help. I am just too enthusiastic. I wish I could put 100 CPU's to work.
----------------------------------------I talk to people about this all the time, Windows people, Mac people. I will think about winnowing my list. BTW, another little hitch, I have this thread marked to watch, I know my email address is correct; but I am not getting notices of replies. Thanks again for your help. |

I believe watch emails are sent once per day.
There's not much point in the watch feature, since usually we provide a reply very quickly. |
