recovering old work

My computer had a problem this morning. I had to restart, and run scan disk and in the process all my work units were dumped.

Now I am working on new work units, but if I go to my results status page it says that I have a bunch of old work units "in progress".

Is there a way to either recover those work units?

Or could I some how cancel those work units -- so someone else can do them quickly so I don't slow down progress (more importantly slow down someone from getting credit)?

Have a great day and I should apologize if this is answered elsewhere I couldn't find it.

Best practice in these situations is, to first set the client to not fetch work and abort the jobs not started and or not completed. That would signal the scheduler to reissue immediately.

Normally a client reset would retrieve all none aborted work, provided it's the same install. In this situation, they will eventually expire as 'No Reply' and be send to another cruncher at that time.

Techs really don't have the time to manually annul tasks, particularly now, where a project launch is feverishly worked on. Most probably this happens so often in a day that it would become a day task to trace them down, so thanks for letting us know but don't worry about it too much.

cheers

Re: recovering old work

Thanks. My computer completly locked up, so I couldn't make preparations for it by shutting down the work properly. I didn't know it was going to do this either. Normally what you suggested is what I do when I am upgrading just to be certain I don't cause any trouble.

I wasn't looking for a tech to do the work for me, I guess I was just hoping that there was something that I could do.

Thanks for your help.
