Peeps, could you pray for me today? I'm having a broken heart at work. I'm home on lunch and I need to stop crying.
----------------------------------------What happened is I saw this bird hopping near an empty shelf and I said to the customer that it looked liked he didn't have any wings. The guy said it looked like he didn't have a tail either. Well I started crying and I said I wonder what happened to him. The customer said you don't want to know. I couldn't stop crying. So after he left I asked Patty about it and she said the bird got caught in a glue trap. I got mad cause apparently it was decided to put these animal glue traps up on top of the steel near the ceiling above the birdseed so they could catch these birds that fly in the store! How can this be humane??? Not only do we have to see the resulting maiming of an animal, but the customers do too. It is breaking my heart. Please pray for me to be able to bear it. Diana  |

Darling Diana, my only sisser, I guess the birds are making messes that can't be tolerated health-wise in the store, honey...
----------------------------------------how about calling your Humane Society and asking for a humane method to take care of the problem. This is definitely not humane. Then you'll have to do some praying and talking to your manager. I'll start praying with you right now because this is an intolerable situation. I've worked in green houses and I know that birds like them too and the best way is to live right along with them BUT when you have customers in the same greenhouse, that does become a problem. *Incidentally, Diana, when there is a bird which has been maimed, some brave person should press on its breast bone to relieve it quickly from its misery. ----------------------------------------Bird w/ no tail The onther ones I took didn't come out, and I took a couple short video's on my cell phone but they are to dark. I know birds are not wanted in the store, but every single Wal-Mart has them. I would like to have a more humane way to get them back outside. But as soon as the door is opened they fly right back in. |

Happy New Year!!!  +And, to celebrate, I went to the computer store today and bought a gig of RAM for my computer (only had 512 MB). It made quite a bit of difference, and all the apps play a lot better together now. Happy New Year Jim! My machine is in great need of another gig of RAM also, Jim... but Mr. Thefirst doesn't even read e-mails from the children on the computer.. (I have to print EVERTHING for him) so he doesn't understand that computers have needs...... just like his beloved CARS! I'm waiting to see more pictures of the littlepeaks family, Jim! |
