Latest World Community Grid stable BOINC versions with WCG skin can be obtained at the download page reachable via the home page of this website. Sign-In is required. The platform supported releases are:

For Windows 98, version 5.8.16 is the WCG recommendation (See End of Technical Support Notice for W98 ).

Note that due to changes in OS X 10.6.x aka Snow Leopard, version 6.6 or higher is needed.

New stable version announcements are communicated via Member News , usually as part of a Website Update post. Subscribe via the Forum Watch function or adding the RSS feed to your browser. Early advises can be seen in the message log of a the client **. They have a form like the next sample:

Installation and use of the 6.11.xx/6.12.xx Alpha releases are not supported on this production grid. They may or may not run successfully with WCG. First line, visit the Berkeley developers forum or Alpha mail list for any issues you have.

Occasionally an error 1714 occurs when upgrading. This happens because the new package tries to uninstall the old version but cannot find the old installer package in any known disk location. To resolve, obtain old version. The previous general release versions of WCG with official download link are:

Why the old version's boinc.msi file could not be found is overzealous disk cleaning. Never remove old installer software unless sure the software was uninstalled properly.
