I have been having a regular boinc manager problem.
This morning when I got home from work my rig was idle so I brought up boinc manager and the screens were all blank. In order to get the thing going I have to close it and fire it up again. Of course, I don't know how much idle time is caused because when I fire it up again it starts a new log..........and the previous log wasn't visible. Looking at my pending page it looks like my fastest rig was idle since I went to work 13 hours ago  This is with manager 5.10.20 under Vista.........but also had same issue with a previous boinc manager. And I think, not entirely sure that my x2 rig under xp has had the same issue. Any ideas? |

----------------------------------------BOINCmgr sitting blank suggest it lost contact with the deamon and given that it (likes) to talk to the BOINC daemon about once per second, things on surface seem to hang. 2 Questions: - Is there an actual WCG science process running (See Taskmanager)? I understand there is not. - Where have you installed BOINC under Vista? If you had it under XP too, it's a thing i battled long and found the security software simply dislikes the frequent in-house traffic via localhost and port 31416. The Vista FAQ has a paragraph on different permissions that need tuning. The 'localhost' part (8. Firewall Related Issues) applies to at least WinXP too.
