Saying "You would not believe that there are so many masochists participating almost every day on this forum, would you?", implies that you'd have to be a masochist to tolerate the current forum software on a daily basis. The negative implication is that a normal person (i.e., non-masochist) would not. I didn't like being lumped with the masochists especially when there is a third group - people who recognize the flaws of WCG but also see the value of it's work and are willing to continue wandering and shouting in the wilderness hoping that someday they will be able to make a difference.

Granted, you can interpret things in different ways and I'm sorry if I misread your meaning, but it sounded like a dig against the people who put up with the things and people they don't like because they see a greater purpose.

I'm missing a good chunk of my cerebral cortex. I take several psychotropics including an Alzheimer's drug and amphetamines just to be able to approximate being normal some of the time. Sometimes I miss things that would otherwise be obvious and don't make connections that I probably should. But unlike some of the people here, at least I've got one darn good excuse.

Why not port the forum over to those that CAN offer a decent interface....such as Vbulletin???

I really don't see how getting projects running etc has anything to do with the forums.

I mean, folk could create a better forum interface using free software so.....

Oh well, some of the Boinc forums are even clunkier.

OK twilyth, I'll remember it, and you have my sympathy for your health problems. I had already read similar things from you in the past but I had taken it to the second degree and I believed it was only some kind of excuse for tough things that you had written before.
Perhaps I may share with you my personal trick for avoiding going too far when I am too upset: I force myself to let enough time pass before answering. Or even before finally not answering at all if it is not really as serious as it looked like.

Thank you for showing me my too sophisticated (for me) sentence. I don't use this difficult (for not native English speakers) construct very often and I shall remember to stay away from it in the future. Too risky...
