What can I do or what have I done wrong? Here in the office, I have no internet connetion for boinc, only for IE. Thanks for your help! Greetings, |

Is that CPU a Hyperthreaded processor with 1 real and 1 virtual core?
----------------------------------------Try setting your local preferences (advanced menu) to use only 1 processor in that case and see what happens. Is this a machine in the office? If so and only IE, you may be missing parts as IE may only need port 80, WCG also requiring port 443.

Hy,
thanks for your quick answer. I have check running boinc with only 1 cpu. I don't know, whether it is 1 real and 1 virtual oder 2 real cpu, but in my opinion, there is only 1 cpu with HT (cause the machine here is approx. 2 years old). Well, the errors are the same. 27.09.2007 14:09:52|World Community Grid|Reason: Unrecoverable error for result dddt0101a0102_ZINC03170746-0000_01_1 (Input file missing or invalid) 27.09.2007 14:09:52|World Community Grid|Computation for task dddt0101a0102_ZINC03243703-0000_00_0 finished 27.09.2007 14:09:52|World Community Grid|Output file dddt0101a0102_ZINC03243703-0000_00_0_0 for task dddt0101a0102_ZINC03243703-0000_00_0 absent 27.09.2007 14:09:52|World Community Grid|Output file dddt0101a0102_ZINC03243703-0000_00_0_1 for task dddt0101a0102_ZINC03243703-0000_00_0 absent 27.09.2007 14:09:52|World Community Grid|Computation for task faah2366_ZINC01760373_xmd01720_01_0 finished 27.09.2007 14:09:52|World Community Grid|Output file faah2366_ZINC01760373_xmd01720_01_0_0 for task faah2366_ZINC01760373_xmd01720_01_0 absent 27.09.2007 14:09:52|World Community Grid|Output file faah2366_ZINC01760373_xmd01720_01_0_1 for task faah2366_ZINC01760373_xmd01720_01_0 absent 27.09.2007 14:09:52|World Community Grid|Computation for task faah2366_ZINC01758669_xmd01720_00_0 finished 27.09.2007 14:10:22|World Community Grid|Reason: Unrecoverable error for result dddt0101a0102_ZINC03256428-0000_03_0 (Input file missing or invalid) 27.09.2007 14:10:22|World Community Grid|Starting dddt0101a0102_ZINC03200116-0000_01_0 27.09.2007 14:10:22|World Community Grid|Deferring communication for 1 min 0 sec 27.09.2007 14:10:22|World Community Grid|Reason: Unrecoverable error for result dddt0101a0102_ZINC03200116-0000_01_0 (Input file missing or invalid) 27.09.2007 14:10:22|World Community Grid|Computation for task dddt0101a0102_ZINC03253381-0000_02_0 finished 27.09.2007 14:10:22|World Community Grid|Output file dddt0101a0102_ZINC03253381-0000_02_0_0 for task dddt0101a0102_ZINC03253381-0000_02_0 absent 27.09.2007 14:10:22|World Community Grid|Output file dddt0101a0102_ZINC03253381-0000_02_0_1 for task dddt0101a0102_ZINC03253381-0000_02_0 absent 27.09.2007 14:10:22|World Community Grid|Computation for task dddt0101a0102_ZINC03253381-0000_03_0 finished Did I mention the project Human Proteome folding is running well? There are no problems. I have downloaded Boinc and all the wu at home and burn it to disc to let it run in the office, because I do not get online connection with boinc in the office. But it worked well until today. |

How do you run? Copy it to HD and start it from there? Do you copy when BOINC *Is Not Running* on both the Donor and Off-Line office machine? When copying to the office machine, do you copy it to the same logical place?
----------------------------------------Did notice the HPF2 entry, so at least that is positive. Why it's ltd to the AutoDocked sciences, dont know, just that the failing work requires more RAM. The way to find out is return to the home machine, reset the project and fetch new work, burn a fresh CD and try again, noting that WCG does not promote using non-owned hardware, lest permission was granted. Since this is a multiproject problem by the looks I'll ask this to be moved to the BOINC support forum, so dont be surprised if you dont see this thread immediately. TKH/CIH, please would you move thanks

Hy,
thanks for your extensive issue. OK, at least, I can answer your questions. I burn the folder BOINC (when boinc is not running, of course) and copy it to a different folder (with the same name) and run it. I suppose, I have enough ram ro run it in the office (my machine in the office has more ram than at home) but I am not sure. Can it be possible that boinc is missing an online connection, when it is up to calculate the specific wu? the first two turns were HPF2 and after a few hours dddf came up... I didn't get it with "TKH/CIH, please would you move". OK, anyway thanks again, I'll try to find out more and post it. |

Hi luckyhell
What below means " TKH/CIH, please would you move". Is that has already been moved to BOINC Agent support forum |

BOINC does not require a network to run, your method generally known as 'Sneakernet' Method.
----------------------------------------Presume you set the BOINC client on the donor to Suspend Network before exiting and copying? You seem to do that already given this line "27.09.2007 11:01:56||Suspending network activity - user request". The last sentence of my post refers to the previous line of my post. TKH/CIH are the 2 admins that can move threads to the proper place :)
