I am using the Windows UD WCG agent. It appears to be working fine on 2 of my systems, but on one of my desktops, I have a problem. When I leave at night, it is working on a task just fine. I screen lock the computer, then leave. When I come back in the morning, there is no task executing, and the system tray icon has a tooltip that tells me, "click here to view messages from grid server." I click to open the WCG window, and see the same message in orange at the bottom. I click there, and I get a popup telling me that the UD agent is repeatedly crashing. However, I click OK to dismiss the popup, and then the window shows it downloads a new task, and then says, "Primary task is executing..." in orange at the bottom. It looks like it finished the one task it was working on, but then failed to download the next one.
This was really annoying - I was out for a week, and it did no work during that week. It seems that I have to manually "kick it" to get it to move to the next task. Any ideas what needs to be done here? |

Hello babka,
My suggestion would be to uninstall UD and install BOINC as a service on that machine. The BOINC service will run in the background no matter whether the screen is locked or not. Lawrence |
