Judging by the fact that all my married friends mock my maturity level and my severe fear of committment, I don't see marriage in my future any time soon. Well that sounds like a workable plan for now. One thing I can say, when love happens there is not a #### thing you can do about it no matter what your mind says. As far as poor Cedrick's entertainment is concerned, you could add a flash memory module and give him some mp3s to listen to while cleaning. Maybe some DragonForce!?!? I like the idea of MP3's, but would probably tone it down a bit. Maybe some Mozart Chamber Music? How about KV 525 (listening to it right now on iTunes, actually). Save you looking it up - KV525 is "Eine Kleine Nachtmusik" |

Let's have a bet on how long it takes for "them" to edit me to "darn" or even worse "dern" I'm betting on "doggone" ![]() Doggone it, I'll pick the dern time at 6 hours from now when they run the darn scan list. ![]() I have to admit, I have no real comprehension of why we need a swear filter. When we say #### and darn, we mean the same thing. Changing f**k to flip changes nothing about the author's meaning, or even the reader's understanding of the word. It makes less than no sense (at least from a philosophy of language standpoint). After all, if flip = f**k, then saying flip should be equally offensive if the two words are truly equal. If F = K, then in all cases where F is unacceptable/inappropriate, K must therefore also be unacceptable/inappropriate. Also, it's not the words that offend us. We can use offensive words in a playful and non-offensive manner. For example, the bartender may say "John you irish b**tard, how the h*ll are you?" and I may take no offence. However, if my religion professor were to say "John you're a stupid b**tard. You get an F," I have every right to get angry. The point is that both meaning and tone/circumstance are relevant to decisions on the offensiveness or lack thereof of a particular term or utterance. I think I just severely overcomplicated this thread. This is proof that John needs to not type on the forum after drinking. edited for language...cih [Edit 2 times, last edit by Former Member at Nov 9, 2007 1:10:08 PM] |

I think I just severely overcomplicated this thread. This is proof that John needs to not type on the forum after drinking. Teacher, teacher, Jonathan said a bad word!! Well, actually this is a forum open to the public and the intent is not to offend. Children come here. But then many of children I see today use language that would make my old Army Drill Sergeant blush. See you in detention. PS: Never drink and type ![]() ![]() |
