----------------------------------------You need not do anything. The device will not be shown in "device statistics" after it does not return a result in 14 days. I think it goes away pemanently after 90 days but am not sure of that. Thanks for participating in the WCG! ![]() |

Old devices do not go away, but are kept for overall history. I have many combinations from tests and computers that are no longer around.
----------------------------------------I have 110 UD devices but a possibility of only 4 could be active at the moment. Many were used for UDMonitor, which required another device for each reserve cache.

I have replace new computer and the Device Name is to defference. How can I check-out or remove the old device name from list? The one trick how many a new registered device could have been avoided is what most already do: Backing up the old-machine's data, but just with a little extra step. On the old computer, back them up from the usual locations like C:\Program Files\World Community Grid\* or C:\Program Files\BOINC\* directories + subdirectories and put them in the same place on the new computer. Make a manual shortcut to the UD.exe or BOINCmgr.exe and place those wherever you like, the fast launch Startbar, the menu or the (auto) startup folder. 99 out of a hundred the client just continues where it left off. I just did it on Friday after a disk went from bad to worse, but were able to recover all data and the clients. New disk, oh so much bigger, oh so much faster and oh so cheap (79.90 Euro for 500mb internal). All is not lost yet, though a device may have been created, you can still take the action, if the old hardware is still there. The WCG device will continue adding points and the new one will disappear in oblivion when 14 days are over. An aside: Funny part is, I never knew how fast WozXP could boot with a disk that has a 16mb Time for the second espresso ttyl
