WCG/BOINC password length

hi,

would it be, by any chance, within your current bounds of consideration, to allow longer passwords and special characters for the wcg/boinc login?

currently, as you may know, those passwords are restricted to a length of 6-15 characters - though, most of my other boinc passwords consist of 30 characters and include special characters, which is perfectly within their specifications.

thus, it would be nice if the wcg would allow that as well, in a sense of both, security and consistency maybe?

Re: WCG/BOINC password length

WCG is still dealing with a dual UD/BOINC environment. I suspect that they would be interested in closing that loophole one of these days, especially since passwords are easier to break as computers get faster. WCG has plans to be BOINC only next year after two current UD projects finish, and it will be easier to be compatible with the rest of BOINC.

What about this Microsoft password standard? laughing

Your password must be at least 18770 characters and cannot repeat any of your previous 30689 passwords. Please type a different password. Type a password that meets these requirements in both text boxes.
