vaio --
In the earlier post mentioned by Sekerob, knreed alluded to a server problem. I have e-mailed him to ask that he check into this for us. |

Hi vaio,
Could this commo problem be related to the problem you had with your router last week until you reset it? Lawrence |

Thanks for the feedback folks.
Not a router issue. Just shut boinc down and fired it up again.....and the unit immediately uploaded. |

From the BOINC Wiki:
----------------------------------------['(file-name)'] Locked By file_upload_handler PID='(pid)' This message is an indication that there is an attempt by two or more File Upload Handlers that are trying to perform a file action on one file at the same time. Allowing two processes to change a file at the same time is, um, a no-no ... This error usually happens when the first attempt to upload a file fails and the second or subsequent attempt is tried before the Data Server has released the "write lock" on the original upload attempt. The "PID" is the Process Identification Number, or the number that identifies the process that is doing the work. This unique number allows the administrators to locate a process that is not performing correctly and to halt/kill it before starting another new process. The file path that is listed is the actual filename and path on the Data Server, not the on the Participant's Computer. It appears that the problem is at the server and may require knreed's assistance. [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Sep 15, 2007 7:22:27 PM] |
