Re: Computers tips

Thanks again JP.

Dont laugh guys.

Made myself a tinfoil hat to put over my BT box that all of my BT wiring leads to in the electricity cupboard. laughing I found an old plastic tupperware box and lined it with aluminium foil from the kitchen. Taped it over the BT box with parcel tape to see if it would have any effect.

I am getting this to Toronto now :

I will make a more permanent shielding solution soon.

Still working on improvements

Re: Computers tips

Thanks roundup.

Remember if anybody does any of this, to turn of your computer and modem/router and reboot to give your system a chance to take advantage of the improvements. eg, your router will pick up better stats from your ISP.

Later peeps.

Re: Computers tips

Zamzar.com also can convert YouTube videos to a number of formats. They did many document and image format conversions but now handle a number of others including CAD.

I think separating the improvements from the graphics is a bit messy JP mate. There would be no link between them and the result they produce. No big deal though, just saying.

While we're on the topic of free converters of YouTube videos, It captures YouTube FLV files to your hard drive. Just copy the YouTube URL and paste it at: keepvid.

Re: Computers tips

How would you like to have an expert look at your PC and tell you what you need in order to get it running at its potential? You could pay a tech expert lots of money to do the job or you could download the Belarc Advisor - Free Personal PC Audit which will scan your computer and give you a detailed list of your installed software and hardware, along with reports about missing patches, hotfixes and more. A built-in benchmarking utility will help you compare before and after results...

Re: Computers tips

Here's a site that can help Ninite lets you check off programs on a long list, then it downloads and installs all of them, automatically, without intervention. There are some caveats, of course, so read the site carefully before you use. But I bookmarked this site... just in case.
