Hi all,
I have may problems when I go the webpage an log in. When I click on my statistiks or some other menu entry I very often come to the page http://www.ibm.com/link/surfaid.html or some other IBM page. In other cases I see a message that this page can not be displayed (message from my browser). It's also strange that when clicking on the menu enties very often I leave the secure connection (SSL), enter the secure connection again or see mixed content (secure and not secure mixed, as on this page). Can I do something to prevent this? Is there something wrong with the webpages? Is someone else also seeing that strange things? Thank you! |

What browser are you using? A thread was started by Scribe last week that gives some instructions and a "road map" how to set up IE7 and what trusted sites to allow (found in this website support forum): https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=15659.
----------------------------------------If you dislike WCG capturing numerical/anonymous guest statistics, restrict the link sites to surfaid and google-analytics. As a rule set your browser to erase cookies on exit and most of your trails are happily erased and started new on next visit.

Hi Sekerob,
the link points out the problem with the mixed content and it can help for this problem. And yes, I also have IE 7. Mybe I should try to use a mozilla based browser... But what about the other one? When I log in to my statistics and click on "My Statistics History" I very often see the page http://www.ibm.com/link/surfaid.html. Is this a generell problem? Can I something to make it better? joer01 |

The surfaid stats capturing has been there for a long time. That you actually get redirected there is new. Suggest to go over your browser settings and permissions. Suggest also to clean the cache and cookie store and do a soft-boot if you've not done that for some time.
----------------------------------------In Mozilla I've set it as a untrusted in NoScript and in IE as a restricted site, so you should not be getting there if you do the same as what's discussed on google-analytics. Is javascripting on in youe IE7?

It could be a scripting problem. If you have javascript disabled and something is going wrong with the redirects, then you might see behaviour like what you are experiencing.
WCG seem to be switching from surfaid to google-analytics, and that could also be a contributory factor. |

Here's an article found some time ago titled: "You cannot Rely on Javascript being available" http://www.456bereastreet.com/archive/200612/...t_being_available_period/
----------------------------------------Excerpt line ".... All three services use JavaScript in ways that make them fail, without warning or explanation, when scripting is disabled or blocked by firewalls...."

The browser itself is startet every time I access the website and the computer booted every day. I have used a Mozilla browser and not seen the strange thing like in IE7. At first glance it looks like it's working with this browser. But why is still unknown. joer01 |
