Migration to boinc

How do I retain the points I accumulated using the UD version of WCG when I switch to the boinc version(which s--ks). When I attached to boinc version it would not accept my previous user name , password, or any other info since they already existed. Had to start fresh with new name, etc. and zero credits.
I have over 500,000 points - are they gone?

Re: Migration to boinc

Hi KRH an Alum,

When you attach BOINC to WCG there is an "existing member" box just before the screen or at top of the sign in screen (depending on BOINC version) where it asks for name/password. That will allow you to use the same name and starts adding the BOINC credits multiplied by 7 to the WCG points earned with the UD agent. The points only merge on the My Grid statistics, not in the agents.

to fix this, detach from WCG and re-attach in the Advanced View Advanced menu.

cheers

Re: Migration to boinc

When you say "detach from WCG and re-attach in the Advanced View Advanced menu", do you mean remove WCG from Programs and reinstall? Sorry, not a techie!

Re: Migration to boinc

No, BOINCmgr has an 'Advanced' Menu, with a project add/attach option. In the 'Projects' tab you detach from WCG.

Re: Migration to boinc

Your points appear combined on the website. Just make sure you use the same member name as before.

Re: Migration to boinc

1. Are you getting work on your BOINC client?

2. Have you returned any completed work with the BOINC client?

3. Have you visited the My Grid > Result Status Page if 2 is true?

&

UD agent points will not be visible in the BOINC client. They add together on the My Grid Statistics page. Both agents are incompatible to each other.
