G'day All,
----------------------------------------Just heard about the big migration and thought it worth mentioning, if you making the switch search around for a team to help you with the move and answer any of your other questions. Just make sure they use BOINC and have a place or a way to exchange any help first. It makes little sense to join a team for help, if they can't. Cheers, Mike ---------------------------------------- [Edit 1 times, last edit by SC>Mike Mitchell at Aug 18, 2007 4:08:23 PM] |

Most of the large teams have a team thread. Asking the same BOINC question on each can spread the same answer around in many places, increasing the frustration of somebody that only wants a simple answer.
----------------------------------------HINT: If you are using VISTA, you DEFINITELY want to do some reading first. There are some solutions that make your installation easier. Start with the community maintained FAQ https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/listthreads?forum=3 If not there, a search for the problem will usually be found in the BOINC section of the forum, World Community Grid Forums ยป Forum: BOINC Agent Support https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/listthreads?forum=83 making it easy on those of us who actually have to fix the problems. Many of the members have already encountered these problems, since some have done this before. Some have been using BOINC for a couple of years, and others are using both UD and BOINC. If the question is in the team areas, the CAs and techs would tend to ignore it since there could conceivably be over 16000 different team threads. In actuality, there are about 100 team threads with heavy posts, still a bunch when digging out a BOINC problem.
