Re: Secure Non Secure items

..as this is something that has just started, WCG must have done something recently to cause it to happen? Also I tried your workround -

Because the disabling can be set separately for each of the 4 areas, Internet, Local Intranet, Trusted Sites and Restricted sites, select Trusted Sites and add http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org and https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org You need to untick the "Restrict ..." box at bottom to be able to add http:// sites. After, apply the custome level, Allow Mixed Content enabled. This way, trusted sites can mix, but the other 3 groups cant.

But there IS NO restrict box at the bottom...

Re: Secure Non Secure items

Scribe, the check box is in the dialog that shows when you click the "Sites...." button. It is possible to lock down that option, so perhaps it isn't available for you.

You will have to be patient for now. WCG fix things like this as fast as possible, but it still takes some time.

Re: Secure Non Secure items

I know it is the Site option and the only box there is - Requires Server Verification for All sites in this Zone.

Unchecking that makes not difference ...and....in the 'custom' area there is nothing mentioning anything about"Allowing mixed content!"...

Re: Secure Non Secure items

That's the box Sekerob is talking about, all right. The important thing is to add https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org to the list of trusted sites.

The "Display mixed content" option is about half way down the "Custom level" dialog. Change it from "prompt" to "enable". (Make sure you change the options for the trusted zone obviously).

Re: Secure Non Secure items

The things we do to help folk out of their misery .... the road map.... just follow
the arrows after Menu bar 'Tools' > Internet Options.

Enjoy

50 % of the WCG visitors use Firefox. What's stopping U? (a question for the chat room please).

Added: Note that in the latest revision the 2 addresses for http and https were merged using the wildcard method Didactylos commented on. The *.google-analytics.com address can optionally be added here in in the "Restricted Sites", which will stop that one to pop up too.

Ensure to re-tick the Required Verification Box!

Re: Secure Non Secure items

In fact it is the Internet one that matters. I went back and removed the enable from the Trusted zone and it still works?

Re: Secure Non Secure items

Sorry, Scribe - this just means you didn't successfully add the right sites to the trusted zone.

Still, if you're not worried about mixed content, then you've fixed it - and you won't get the warning from any other sites, either.
