I was looking at my clients yesterday and i noticed that i had some WUs that suddenly were being done (deadline before the existing WUs) before the WUs i already had. I think these are Beta WUs as i see there is a release of Beta WUs right now.
----------------------------------------My question is i don't see a way to be notified of posts in the Beta Test Announcements thread so next time i will know whats going on, is there a way to get notification when there is a post that i missed on the forum?  |

The 'My Forum Profile' allows for setting 'My Watch' of posts in specific fora: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/mywatch.

Ted - those WU's are probably the last of the old FAAH units which are being released with just 2 day deadlines rather than being Beta WU's - in which case Boinc will start crunching these 2 day ones first.

I think these are Beta WUs as i see there is a release of Beta WUs right now. TLD, Beta WUs usually have the word BETA somewhere in their name. Therefore if you only "think" they are Beta WUs it is probably that they are not. Otherwise you would be sure they are.  What Ady said is probably the right explanation. And this was announced here too. Release of new FightAIDS@Home application versions on BOINC Cheers. Jean. |

'Beta' have 'Beta' before them if they are first public trials and go into the Beta bucket in the Project statistics. Several 'Beta' tests (e.g. due small bug tweaks) have actually gone directly into the production pot, merely recognizable by short deadline, not their name. So far they always have been gone ahead by an announcement.
----------------------------------------Just watch this page: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/stat/viewProject.do?projectShortName=beta which showed a few thousand coming through in the last few days and yesterday 312. As for "My Watches", Member News, Known Issues and Beta Announcements are the 3 I've selected. The mail is a summary listing of 'watches', so it's not like you get an avalanche of loose messages.
