Computer's Sleep Mode
If my computer is in "sleep" mode or "standby" mode can my computer still process or work on the WCG problem that's been assigned to it?

No. Your computer needs to be on.

However, to conserve energy you can set your power management options to shut off your monitor and put your hard drive in standby.
