Hello, I performed a search and couldn't find anything about this problem, but if it has been adressed, I'm sorry.
As far as I know, there are two areas where you can see your member information, online and in your WCG agent at home. My problem is that there is such a large difference between the information displayed online and at home. The online information is updated quite frequently and displays the following information for me: Total Run Time (y:d:h:m:s) (Rank) 0:076:13:01:13 (#2,083) Points Generated (Rank) 38,977 (#3,109) Results Returned (Rank) 100 (#2,947) My WCG agent at home displays the following information Total Run Time 0:081:0:43:41 Total Points: 41722 as of my last result returned. Does anyone know why the two are not co-ordinated? ~Alain |

Hi Alain Bryden
----------------------------------------The results at the server reflect the Work Units that you have returned prior to 12:00 am GMT The server database is only updated every 24 Hours If you return results after the midnight GMT cut off time they will be displayed on your stat page the next time the server updates the results of Work Units Received So there can be up to a 24 Hour delay between the time you return a Work Unit and the time you actually show credit for it on your personal stats page at WorldCommunityGrid I hope this helps to put your mind at rest Regards [Edit 2 times, last edit by Former Member at Jan 22, 2005 1:32:08 PM] |

So there can be up to a 24 Hour delay between the time you return a Work Unit and the time you actually get credit for it a small point, but you get credit for the completed work unit as soon as you return the result, and this is shown in the WCG agent on your PC. You have earned the points immediately on the server also, but the public display of points/rank on the web page is only updated once a day. |

I realise there is a 24 hour server update delay, and normally wouldn't consider it an issue, except that there is a discrepancy of 107 hours of run time.
Online Total Run Time 76 days :13 hours :01:13 At home Total Run Time 81 days :0 hours :43:41 |

Hi Alain Bryden
I guess I did not pay enough attention to the figures After checking your profile I see that you are correct A block of stats seem to have gone astray Please be patient while I bring it to the attention of Admin and see if they know how to rectify it Regards |

Alain,
----------------------------------------I notice that you have 3 devices configured could it be that one of your other machines has posted a monster work unit of 107 hours there have been a lot of big work units about and now as your current machine has picked up new work unit the agent is reflecting the total value of your ponts and run time? This should right itself on the website after the 00:15 GMT update. btw I also notice you joined and retired from MOT before I'd even had chance to say hello. Was it something I said? Best Regards Dave |

Hey Dave, I actually had some confusion and went back and forth once, but I'm resting on MOT.
Also, one of those devices was a reinstallation after several months running, and then my computer started doing buffer overflow protection and I thought it was WCG and reinstalled. When I reinstalled I accidentally changed the device profile name, so it shows an extra one. I also have another device running 24/7 at my home computer while I'm away at university. I figured that someone must have turned it off or that it was knocked out by a power outage by now, but it's may still be running. If so, it is an slower processor, and may have just finished a long processing time as you suggested. I was under the impression that Graham had found a block of stats that were bugged, but if there proves to be no error, this is a very reasonable possibility. |

----------------------------------------I think it will all iron out shortly after midnight GMT. All the best Dave |

Thanks dave, the site looks great, and I look forward to donating pictures of my 'number cruncher' and pets.
I was also wondering if you could get some mod attention to a queery of mine in the "Spread the Word" Thread a couple topics down. Thanks. |
