Hi all!
I joined in the WCG today so totally new to the group (although I have used boinc before). I apologise if this has been asked before, but I did do a search, but couldn't find anything on the subject. I was wondering if there is anywhere where we can get - in layman's terms - how the progress of the research from the 100's of thousands of people that are contributing their computer power can be obtained? I know I can't expect to see a '20% closer to a cure!' or anything like that, but perhaps little news events such as 'we have found that... because of your help.... ' kind of thing. Here's hoping the cures ARE just around the corner! ![]() Foxy |

Most of what you are looking for is located (or buried is probably a better term) here in these Active Project forums. Unfortunately, we do not have "Stickies" available with this forum software. Additional information regarding projects and their status can be found in World Community Grid Newsletters which you can find here.

Hello Thumoo,
----------------------------------------If you go to Research and select a project, you will find a link for each project to that project's website. In addition, the project scientists post some information in their section of the forum. This post contains links to some of these posts: https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=4925#51997 I think that the FightAIDS@Home newsletter (there have been 3) is the most interesting to read. Lawrence Added: Here is a list of posts about HPF: http://homepages.nyu.edu/~rb133/wcg/rbonneau_posts.html [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Jul 9, 2007 8:40:31 PM] |

Also specifically for HPF2 we are processing approximately 4-5 genes a day, and HPF2 is expected to run through Dec 2008:

Thank you for the links. I will have a read and hopefully have a better understanding of what is going on and better terms that I can use to search!
