VISTA

I recently acquired a new coputer running VISTA. Will the program run on VISTA. If so, how can I arrange so that the program on the new system adds to the points already acquired on a another computer running the program. I want both systems to run the program and points for both aggregrated.

Re: VISTA

Yes, the software runs on Vista. However, please take the notes here into consideration: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=12856

If you make sure you register your agent with the same name then all your points will be consolidated.

That's huge. Removing Vista and installing XP instead would be easier, as well as getting rid of the evils of DRM.

Re: VISTA

It is a bit monstrous. Remember, though, that it contains advice for two different agents. Maybe it can be improved - it's a work in progress.

The good news is, the upcoming BOINC release is designed to work much better with Vista.

Re: VISTA

Who said Vista is not a monster? Usually item 1 is enough to get it rolling, but the other will get you there too.... It requires more digging into the OS security configurations though.

This morning added 'u' at bottom, a permanent solution for all non 'MS' certified applications to run on Vista.
