Quran 20:114 " ... say [O Muhammad], 'O my Lord! Increase me in knowledge.' "

Of the many Dua* in the Quran, this is the only Dua* that the Prophet (saw*) was orders to speak explicity in the Quran. In ordering such, God is telling us the importance of knowledge. The scholars hold this as appropriate to all folks, not just the Prophet (saw*). Moreover, scholars indicate this verse informs as Fard* the "doing" of aquiring knowledge and not just the suplication. WCG is computing to aquire knowedge. Insha'Allah*, Let us fulfill our Fard* and participate in knowledge aquisition. WCG is certainly a reasonable way to aquire knowledge. Please consider participate in the WCG (and team Islam) as a way to fulfill this obligation.

I asked the admistration to remove the prior post of an image of a cat being held at gunpoint. They said "no". The image is improper Islamically (to be precise, it is Makrooh, which means "hated by God", according to Quran and Hadeeth and all 4 Schools of Thought). The intention of this thread is to make a thread that is Islamically proper for the Muslim to be comfortable to read.

Since the Team Islam thread has been hyjacked (destroyed) once again (3rd time), I shall consider if a new thead or if to give up is most suitable. Perhaps it is imposible to let Muslims have their manners respected by the WCG administration in the Team Islam thread. May God not make this so.

claychipsmith, I'm sorry that WCG can't intervene, since the post and signature don't break the rules (the image is intended to be humorous). Adywebb clearly didn't mean to offend - I think the best thing to do would be to ask him personally to change his signature, and explain why. I'm sure he would be happy to do this for you.

Don't know why he would be happy to do so. He did nothing wrong and Ady isn't the one attaching some imaginary meaning to his sig.

It is easy to take offence to a poorly written post but in essence all chip did was make his feelings known. I can't fault him for that. As this is a Team thread I think Chip has a right to say what he finds acceptable just as you would in your own house. Some of us (myself included.) may be ignorant of what is objectionable for a different culture. I know I don't would not have had any idea that that sig was offensive. I think a simple explanation from Chip of what is objectionable is not out of order. I would hope that the offending person understanding what was wrong would respect the team thread and either post elsewhere or remove the offence. There are many places to post on the internet. Not posting in one thread will not kill any of us.

Chip perhaps in the future you could inform us of what you find wrong and ask that we refrain from posting such things in your team thread. Most of us will abide by your wishes is my guess.
