I've been unable to get new work units for about 9 hours now. Anybody else having trouble?

If you have Genome Comparison as your only project, I had the same this morning. There are no more new work units and the news release confirmed BOINC also had the last send out:
----------------------------------------http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=14903 Added: After i changed profile to also get FA@H it took 30 minutes between saving the profile and restarting the agent before a new job was received.

Please will you give us a few more details?
What operating system do you use, and what is the exact error message you are seeing? Have you changed, installed or upgraded anything recently? Thanks. |

Windows 98 and Windows XP
----------------------------------------the message on all the machines is the same Agent paused, see www. wcgrid.org/cause.html When I click OK it then says connecting and then downloading 3839kb of 3839 kb then returns to pause screen. No change to run time or any other parts of the operation. No changes have been made to any of my machines or to my network. I've even tried shutting down the whole network and rebooting including the hubs, routers and modem.

the 3839byte of 3839byte (not kb) is a common sign that the available projects do not fit onto your machine. Were you processing FA@H and HPF2 before? How much RAM do these machines have?
----------------------------------------Added: Most probably you joined when both HCMD and GC were running with very small memory footprint. HCMD stopped sending new work about 4 weeks ago and GC finished distributing work units just now. FA@H and HPF2 require lots more. See here: http://tinyurl.com/un3ez

My 512Mb Win98 machine was struggling, refused to send up the results, and then refused to report. I was just about ready to say something.

UD it seems, but it doesn't matter now. GC is finished in both places.
----------------------------------------the 3839byte of 3839byte Assuming a too-small computer, he'd have to shift to BOINC anyway to get some work elsewhere. Nobody else is running UD, at least for the open projects.

128mb ram on BOINC diet would still permit to run FA@H (used too), but lets see what acpartsman will share with us in additional info.... readying the migration link :D
