the computer hanged and rebooted, which led to the harddrive getting corrupted right in the wcg's projects folder.. but this was later recovered and fixed by checkdisk. anyway, boinc now doesn't recognize the old workunits downloaded, about 24 hours worth, and is now downloading new workunits to crunch.
----------------------------------------i think it's a waste if i just dispose of these old WUs so is there a way for me to import them without going through the hassle of editing a lot of xml files? thanks. ![]() |

Sorry, no.
Anyway, there's no point importing corrupt work units! Checkdisk fixes the filesystem, it can't always recover the actual data. |

The safest recommendation would be to do a WCG project reset to make BOINC clean out the client_state.xml and also the .....\BOINC\projects\www.worldcommunitygrid.org folder. Client_State.xml is an extremely volatile file and any editing should be prefaced with a back up, WHILST the agent is not running, but like Didactylos said, the probability of a 'fixed' yet damaged task is greater and what a waste would an 8 hour crunch be if it turns into a 'Invalid' or 'Error' result.
----------------------------------------The work units not recognized will be automatically resend to other clients soon as they expire.... horse manure happens and whilst we wish the technicians could manually force them to expire immediately, at 100,000+ active machines it would end up for WCG staff doing nothing but manual intervention.... so let it run it's natural course. cheers
