Slashdot Users are slacking off! All of the stats are down significantly. Perhaps it is because we are running out of Windoze boxes to use and need a Linux client to install on our superiour Linux boxen! It is 2005 already and still no native Linux client.
Can someone from IBM enlighten us as to the status of the Linux client?  |

Well I've noticed that some jobs are shorter than others, and the jobs I got so far recently were all long winded ones. Maybe there is a redistribution of the jobs amongst the top teams?
The number of users is still well above 3000, but the number of people resigning from the team is slowly growing. Hope we can have the linux client soon to restate the announcement on the frontpage. To present a new challenge: slashdot team did better than 2nd and 3rd and 4th teams combined. How far can we go? Can we do better than the whole top 10 combined? Go slashdot!! Cheers! |

Yes,the WU's seem to be larger,,, insteaded of 24-48 hrz,,,,now a few days on this lowly AMD1800/256 MB Wal-mart-$300 machine.
And I do hope a EASILY [aka WinTel] Install will come soon for our [spare] $100 Wal-mart Via PIII/V3 Lindowz /Lindspere MACHINE can contribute too! [ need BTU's here in New England ] lol  |

Yes,the WU's seem to be larger I second that notion. My computer's been crunching for 4 to 12 hours on WU all last week. Today it's been chewing on this WU for 17 hours and is only 20% done. This is my most powerful too, a 3800+ w/1GB ram and 10GB HD. The other computers I've got crunching are doing worse of course. I'm not slacking, it's just going to take days to finish any WUs. Is this community wide, or targeted to the Slashdot Team? |

I agree. I had few WUs over 10 hours before, but now, I've got one that will be well over 100 hours on a P4 2.4GHz/1GB/10GB HD. maybe in a few days we'll see a HUGE jump

I have not heard from some of my machines since the 14th - 15th. I'll check them when I get in the office, but it's pretty apparent to me that things are taking longer now..
