Nice of you to make a site with project progress... but don't you think it's REALLY FAIR to also have it in ENGLISH? The whole world is supporting it throught WCG... and french really isn't the best language for the progress site... Ciao. |

It's a French project. We would love to have everything translated into every language, but that's just the way it goes.

----------------------------------------Since you cannot read French I will tell you. Raphaël Bolze is a student in the Ecole Normale Supérieure de Lyon. The purpose of his site is to support his work on a thesis, not to provide HCMD progress information to the whole world. The link to this page has been provided after several weeks of HCMD by somebody who has discovered it and duly found that it could be interesting for us. For that purpose it is only the graph and the table below it which contain information useful for us. Even if this graph were not in English (but it is) I think it would be understandable by everybody, especially now that it shows that the project is complete. I think Raphaël will not take offense if I say that the rest of his site is irrelevant for us in WCG or that it contains information that you can already find in English in the Research pages of WCG. Raphaël Bolze said to me he will prepare a new website for the Help Cure Muscular Dystrophy - phase 2. I think that It will be in French and English. As say JmBoullier this site wasn't here to inform the whole world, just for his thesis. As you see, the title of the website is Raphael's Homepage and not HCMD progress site. Otherwise you can translate with Babelfish : click here And french is one of the 6 official languages spoken at UNO, the only language spoken as a native language on 5 continents, and official language of 29 countrys and 53 states it's important to learn the french.  It's world cultural diversity   The link to this page has been provided after several weeks of HCMD by somebody who has discovered it and duly found that it could be interesting for us. To learn more about what is going on between phases, please read the posts by Dr. Alessandra Carbone and Dr. Sophie Sacquin-Mora , two of the researchers on the HCMD project, in World Community Grid's forums. In addition, the research team has prepared a progress site which may be reviewed here . Phase 2 is scheduled to start in early 2008. World Community Grid's team will continue to meet with the HCMD researchers on a regular basis and will provide updates on the forums as information becomes available. World Community Grid is pleased to announce that Phase 1 of the Help Cure Muscular Dystrophy (HCMD) project is coming to a close. This project, which launched on December 19, 2006, will have run for just over seven months by the time the final results for Phase 1 are returned. During this time 106,000 members will have donated more than 8,000 years of computer time on 154,000 different computers. This is a significant contribution to muscular dystrophy research. We still need your help with other ongoing projects! World Community Grid continues to run the FightAIDS@Home, Genome Comparison, and Human Proteome Folding - Phase II projects. In a few months, we'll be launching new projects for cancer, dengue fever, and climate prediction. All of these important projects need your computer time. IMPORTANT: If you have elected to participate only in the Help Cure Muscular Dystrophy project, you must take some action to prevent your World Community Grid agent from sitting idle on your PC until the next phase of the project launches. Please sign in to World Community Grid, and from the "My Grid" page, select the "My Projects link from the menu on the left. From the "My Projects" page, select one or more of the other projects in which you choose to participate. If no action is taken within the next 2 weeks, we will set your default to "Participate in All Projects." You will then be automatically enrolled to participate in any new projects that will be launched later this year. On behalf of the Help Cure Muscular Dystrophy research staff and World Community Grid's support team, we wish to express our thanks to you for contributing your PC power to this project. Btw, if some of our friends translate to english, I can help translating to Portuguese, spanish or german... I didn't realized that! --- Heyoka --- Nice to hear that Raphaël will prepare a new site. Hope he could find some time to have it in english too. As you postscript, IN FRENCH, of course the mistake is from WCG e-mail announcing it almost as an official progress site. About learning French, maybe when I have time enough to such a diversity. Still finishing my german classes. By business requires it more than French, sorry. Maybe you should learn spanish (http://www.aneki.com/spanish.html), or portuguese (http://www.aneki.com/portuguese.html), or even german (http://www.aneki.com/german.html), to complete your 'diversity' as I did. Done for spanish and german, not for portuguese.  But if there are website in Portuguese, Italian, dutch or other language, I use babelfish to understand If it's an important Boinc project website, a member of 'l'Alliance Francophone' who know this language translate it in french for all Boinc french speaking. I can translate English --> French Deutsch --> French Spanish --> French But not French --> English It would be necessary to find the same translators in the anglophone teams, to share other language translations. Well, I still think that it's easier for Raphaël or anyone else to translate that site (even poorly / babelfish translation / google translate), than thousands of non-French speakers do that.
Whatever... Tchau. ps: How many guys here or elsewhere do you believe that speaks more than 2 languages? =) |

Maybe you should learn spanish ( http://www.aneki.com/spanish.html ), or portuguese ( http://www.aneki.com/portuguese.html ), or even german ( http://www.aneki.com/german.html ), to complete your 'diversity' as I did. Disappointing! I expected to find links to sites where I could learn those languages (or at least to start it) and all I find is broken links (corrected in my quote). Anyway it is only statistics on the number of countries where people speak those languages. By the way if it is what should motivate people then it is time for you to add French to your list, no?
