That is an easy decision that has been answered many times here. A dual core will run two BOINC workunits simultaneously. BOINC will also run four simultaneous workunits in the upcoming quad cores.
----------------------------------------The UD version has never enhanced for dual core machines and will only run one per CPU.

the BOINC profile default is in fact up to 16 cores running work units in parallel on e.g. 8 x duo or a 4 x quad.
