hi guys, i've got a boinc client that seems to be stalled and possibly constipated. there are 3 completed tasks and 2 ready to start. 2 results have been uploading for 113 hours as this posting, 4 pending upload, and 10 pending download. every time i tell it to update it gives me "not requesting new work or reporting completed tasks". any clues on what might be happening? the client ran fine for a couple months then this starts happening out of nowhere. thanks guys

You want "retry communications" to attempt the downloads again.
But why aren't the up/downloads succeeding? Perhaps the Messages tab can tell us more. |

You say 10 pending download: Is that showing in the Transfer tab? You personal stats say you uploaded last result 23 hours ago, not 113 hours, thus is it one of more machines you run, and if so all over the same internet connection thru a router? added: oops: 1 minutes 1

boinc version 5.8.15

This is strange as assuming it's affirmative that all your machines go thru the same connection. The piece of log you post also indicates no error, in other words, the servers are reached properly.
----------------------------------------Lets try a few things: Make an web browser internet connection from the problem machine and sign into the WCG website: Okay? If yes ports 80+443 are confirmed over HTTP and HTTPS. Open BOINCmgr: Is it processing any tasks? As per Didactylos post, go to Transfer Tab, select a download file and hit Retry Now and try same on an upload file. Does it do anything? Occasionally transmission gets stuck and needs a specific push. Even if the network connection on BOINC is closed, hitting any update/retry button will open the connection for 5 minutes (believe this is a version 5.8 and above feature). Have you booted lately, if not do so.

well if this isn't a nice turn of events. i come to check it this morning and its crunching away again. its got a whole list of uploaded files in the message tab, a few downloads, and everything has returned to normal. geuss it just wanted to make an arse out of me and make me ask for help, lol. thanks a lot guys.

Okay great, but pity we did not find the cause/solution to learn from. Suppose you did do something.
