Hi AbreynagaSometimes the folding process in a particular Work Unit can be very complex and your particular Work Unit may have hit a very complex section If the graph is showing progress then the work unit is still being folded So hang in there untill tomorrow morning and if there is no change, please report it in this post again and we will take a fresh look at the problem Please Note: This is not the correct forum for this question After this problem is solved, it would be appreciated if you posted future problems that you are experiencing in the New Members Forum, or the Member to Member Support Thank you for your cooperation Regards [Edit 6 times, last edit by Former Member at Jan 12, 2005 12:38:33 AM] |

Sounds like one of 2 possibilities to me. If the graph shows work being done, then Graham is almost certainly right. Still, if it stays stuck by the morning, assume something unknown has gone wrong. In that case, try shutting down and rebooting. If that does not cure then there are 2 more possibilities:
A) Kill WCGrid_Rosetta.exe with Task Manager. This kills the Work Unit and destroys all the work you have done on it. UD.exe gets a new Work Unit from the server. This is the least attractive possibility because if something has corrupted your installation then this does not cure it. B) Minimize the Agent, right-click on the icon and choose Exit. This turns off the Agent until you reboot. Then uninstall / reinstall (remembering to check the 'Previous Member' box while reinstalling so that you can log in normally, instead of having to get a new member identity). This also kills the Work Unit, but at least it should repair the problem, whatever it was. |

On a 3.4 Ghz pentium 4 I had a workunit that took over 100 hours and this workunit almost from the begining showed almost no progress yet the graph was going, going, going.
My advice is when you get what they call a killer workunit that you make sure everything is kosher with the computer than just minimize the agent and dont check it more than once a day. A killer workunit is a very tough thing to deal with and a watch pot never boils is a good philosphy to apply to these things. I have experianced 6 so far and I will not monitior another. Very frustrating to try and follow, just let it do its thing and go on to other tasks. |

Thanks Graham but it took less time than that but I had firgured 200 hrs when it started. Got nervous when it slowed down at 90.3 because my grandson had been playing with "Elmo" and thought he might have done something he is only 5. I had a 5 year old granddaughter cause me quite a problem on a few years ago. by rearrangeing windows nt. and a few files. I think I spent 3 days before I wiped out my hard drive and reloaded my back up disks.
