[DA moment alert] Forgot to mention that I've set up statbox images for the base campers who've joined us so far. You're welcome to use them (seems a few still have links to Boerni's defunct site) in your forum signature. Info and directions are on our website at "Statistics image in forum signature". That's in the section for registered members so you'll need to register at the website . I have added one for VAIO GRX616 and corrected the TinyURL's for the rest of you. Sorry about that. |

Kinda getting back in the groove somewhat
---------------------------------------- I just settled down to enjoy some Goose Island India Pale Ale. Goose Island is a craft brewery located, appropriately, on Goose Island in the Chicago River near downtown Chicago. I have also recently enjoyed some Berghoff Original Lager, also a Chicagoland craft brew. There is some Chicago history associated with the name Berghoff. Originally, Herman Joseph Berghoff, an immigrant to America in 1870 from Dortmund, Germany, began brewing Berghoff Beer in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The world's Fair in 1893 brought him to Chicago to sell his beer. It was so well received that he started the Berghoff restaurant. The restaurant managed to stay open through prohibition selling near beer and soda along with their food. In 1933, at the end of prohibition, the Berghoff was issued License Number 1 to serve alcoholic beverages. Alas, all good things come to an end, and, after four generations of Berghoffs ran the restaurant, it closed it's doors for good, I believe last year. BUT . . . the beer continues to be brewed at the Huber Brewery in Monroe, Wisconsin (where else but Wisconsin--LOL). My -- these IPA's are going down quite nicely . I could go on talking about beer, but I think I will settle down and have a couple more while I wait for the stats to come in. By the way, I am awestruck by these Core2 Duo's by Intel. I've been averaging nearly 4K points a day running Boinc on a single laptop with a 1.83 GHz Core2 Duo. I can't wait until I add the Core2 Duo desktop I ordered. I think it clocks at 2.13 GHz, if I remember correctly.Well, time to take care of all the pressure that one builds up drinking beer (especially when taking lasix -- LOL). Crunch on everyone and, once in a while, stop and smell the hops. [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Jun 20, 2007 12:38:06 AM] |

Spikey --
Try some Craft Brews (micro-brews). They are great and reminiscent of days long gone when preservatives didn't rule! -- Dave |
