I have a ghost device on my profile-it was apparently registered 10 seconds before mine.Please note that device registration failed once, and i had to retry. Could this be the ghost device?

Yes, that must be the reason. Each installation (even on the same computer) produces a unique device. A device shows up for 1 week after installation or for 2 weeks after returning a result. Your first "ghost" device will disappear after 1 week, unless you change the default times in the drop down menu..
