Re: The Hai Ku thread

This takes no talent.
Doesn't compare to real art.
Anything will do.

It needn't make sense.
Often it is just random,
and a waste of time.

What would be better?
Cleverly written limerick --
But that takes more time.

It is so true that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, etc. How people can be fans of this nonsense is beyond me, but then I can't stand rap music -- which doesn't take near the talent of well composed and performed music -- and while I could never possibly chisel a sculpture or ever paint a classic like the Mona Lisa, ... I can smear crap on a canvas as good as most of the abstract artists I've seen ... and I can write Hai Ku, too. Hey!!! This is great; an art form for people who don't have any talent. Great idea. To each their own ... but sheesh ... "give me a break".

I've read the Hai Ku that is here.
It's really not worth a small cheer.
It's boring ... you see,
and frightening me,
that so many prefer it to beer.

And now I'll go back to my beer. biggrin

Cheers.
