One of the members of The PCRCII has reported several errors on HPF2 results. Was wondering if you could shed some light on it for them.
Heres his error log from the WU that he posted on our home forum... I have a funny feeling it may be hardware related, but not sure. Have also highlighted the entries i am concerned about. <core_client_version>5.8.16</core_client_version> <![CDATA[ <message> - exit code -1073741819 (0xc0000005) </message> <stderr_txt> Failed to get Hi V_R,
0xC0000005 is a fairly common error message that, to me at least, does not point at anything in particular. I suppose these HPF2 errors are not matched by any others in their quorums. Is there any common factor at the specific times that they occur? Leaving sleep mode, starting screensaver, etc? Everything looks unexceptionable in the message logs, other than the error itself. Theres only one other error in the quorum that he posted. But he said its a regular thing.....Will ask, but i think its random.
He also posted this if it helps... Hello V_R,
About the only thing I can suggest is running some of the system diagnostic tests (such as the CPU Tester) from the Useful Utilities thread at http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=2490 Lawrence |

Hmm AMD.. system being OverClocked at all??? enough cooling on the CPU?? one thing I wouldn't chance myself would be to overclock any of my systems that process any research. sure it may look fine in the foreground but the background can be a total mess..

One reason to *NOT* use UD agent. Unless a client cycles thru work units every minute, there is no telling as there is no error feedback. Occasionally the technicians review logs and manually send a message to the UD client to say it's bombing, but generally and particularly on slower machines it's not noticed at all.
----------------------------------------Opposed, BOINC Result Status page will be pretty quick at telling. A Result Status page button was just added yesterday in the left margin of the BOINC Tasks tab view, so the fast track checking ability is now certainly there and points will quickly dry up if that OC throttle went overboard.
