Does anyone know how much bandwidth specifically upload World Community Grid uses? I like this program but have a peak upload limit every month and am a bit concerned as I don't want to pay for extra bandwidth.
Thanks. |

Hi paravelocity,
----------------------------------------Don't know about how many you (will) process on a day, but an upload of GC does about 400-500k for a 1-2 hours processing. Opposed, the FA@H project is both on upload/download 50-150k for 5-8 hour processing. You don't tell which agent you use, but UD compresses up+download, but by how much I don't know as the in-build zipper is older and uses encryption. BOINC version 5.8.16 uses the 'on the fly' upload compression function. 5.4.x has only download compression. That has gzip, the latest with high reduction achievement. Sekerob
