My up loading is working fine, so maybe the download works also? It is only the 'Reporting' that is giving the Internal server error....plus of course trying to look at Results....so maybe it is only the Results part that is busted and the work allocation part is ok?

Here's a diagram of the WCG structure: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/...d=4925&offset=0#89228 The centre piece was the one being replaced yesterday, and from the different messages it looks like the feeder / scheduler combo went off line.

Thanks for the clarification Sekerob. Do you by chance know when this issue will be resolved?

Given the time differential from Tx to UTC, guess it will be about 15:00 CET that the techs will hit the office. Add an hour or 2 for problem diagnostics and re-routing. Myself, i keep the buffer at 2.5 days (set in My Grid > Device Manager > Device Profile > Custom Profile), so never run idle. Default is 0.3 days (7.2 hours of buffered work).

If using Firefox, get the BOINCstats add-in. It shows the project personal BOINC statistics from the WCG server in the status bar (see screen print in this post. If it prints "Data Unavailable", you know parts of the system are down, without having to hit 'update' in BOINC. Anyway BOINC recovers automatically when the servers are back up, so it's not adding any function to ping the servers.
----------------------------------------Added: knreed just posted: Re: Is there a problem? After about 20 hours of operation, the MySQL database crashed. I have started it back up and it is running now. We are investigating what caused it to crash. Members should be able to get work now and return results. [May 25, 2007 1:26:14 PM]

I will adjust this. Individual statistics are run at 1200 UTC. Individual and team statistics are run at 0000 UTC. The offset can change with/without YOUR daylight savings time, if any. I am seeing the same problem. It took the upload but does not want to report. I have enough workunits for another day or two. OK. The report just ran here. It could have been the 1200 UTC statistics just finishing. I usually have to stay connected for awhile before it decides to do some downloads.

knreed posted in a parallel thread on the same BOINC outage today:
---------------------------------------- Re: Is there a problem ? We have been going through a process of increasing the resources on the server side for the BOINC grid. The database migration was the last major piece of this work. Unfortunately, when you are doing this type of change on a live system, even when you have rehearsed it ahead of time on development systems, there are often unexpected problems. The outage earlier today was one of those. We have now identified the cause (some resource limits were changed to the account that the mysql server was started on following a change yesterday to make bash the primary shell for the account). This has been fixed and the server is operating very well. The changes involved in this migration were: Linux -> AIX MySQL 4.1 -> MySQL 5.0 4GB RAM -> 8GB RAM 2 Processor -> 4 Processor We do apologize for the inconvenience and concern that this outage has caused our members. However, the changes that we have been doing (and now have mostly completed) provide us with a significant increase in capability for the BOINC grid to handle significantly more clients working at World Community Grid.
