Sorry, im not trying to rain on your parade. But what has happend is the grid.org forum has landed here. The whole forum is primarliy in 1 one chat room. This makes the concept of a meanigful forum entry nearly worthless.
----------------------------------------See, if you think im the big bad wolf. Realize this is not my place that is getting squished. Think how they feel. Their valued post out on page 52 somewhere by now. NO, wait! I saw one the other day! But it was off the page in seconds. Oh well, if you run for it, it might be just at page 10. The reason why this place is slow, is it's not what is needed. Not that it's a bad idea. What I'm saying point blank, is lets get our needs met before the celebration parade. We need to stop the log jam in the main chat room and give back the room by asking for the more primary chat rooms in the old forum be reinstalled first. The only reason why I have not gone screaming at those in charge, is it isnt wise to demand much from those who have offered you in from the cold. |

like the others, i don't understand you. this is already a separate forum section for illness stories, sympathy etc. anything else should be in chat or other places.
are you suggesting to subdivide it somehow? |

Ah, I see what your getting at now - we're not talking about this section but sorting out the congestion in the Chat section?
This Caring and Sharing section will not get lost in the congestion by the very fact it is seperate, but I agree the Chat section is very congested - probably best to make a request in the 'suggestions/feedback' section and see what they can do. Meantime I think we should keep this section clear for what it was intended - maybe one of the admins can arrange to have these posts moved to the appropriate place? |

the Chat section is very congested - probably best to make a request in the 'suggestions/feedback' section and see what they can do. if this is what she means, that may be asking too much at this time from the limited staff here. in my experience their time is heavily consumed by numerous technical issues and assisting crunchers. sorting out chat sections is not on top of the list |

----------------------------------------who knows, maybe they will do something about it. but until then i will post in my team thread only, why waist the time composing anything worthwhile. Oh, and if you think im trying to speak ill of the dead, i dont even speak ill of grid.org. its dead and its not even a person! [Edit 1 times, last edit by courine at May 25, 2007 9:23:48 AM] |

I tend to agree with you halfcard - this place was never really designed for chat and games etc, it is a place for help/advice and for teams to meet to discuss issues, recruiting etc, with teams using their own forums for that kind of thing.
However, we have to be mindful of the arrival of those who are used to a different type of forum, and if things can be done to accomodate without disruption to the primary reason then it should be considered - I think we just have to be patient. |

I think one important issue, missed by many; is that this NOT GridOrg.
----------------------------------------Things are different here and will change, eventually. Patience will be required. I personally have no concern about a thread not being on the front page, as mentioned. I will search for what is important to me, as others will also. Nice touch with the new "caring" area. The administration here is above all other forums and I apppreciate the timely attention paid to crunching issues as well as personal forum requests. THANKS
