Hi all,
I am using a torrent client alongwith trying to use Boinc Agent. Somehow the data doesn't move. Is this a known issue or what? I have given 100% memory & 100 % CPU for the Boinc Agent. But it still doesn't move. I have put task as well as checkpoint flags but nothing shows up. Around 2 hrs. of crunching is left & I kept it for more than 5 hrs. but crunching time increases instead of increasing. It's done till 80% . Please lemme know what's going on here. |

Just have a look in the Task/Process manager to see how much time BOINC is really getting. If it's just a portion, then as partial time processing happens, BOINC will recompute the TTC which, when things go slower then the benchmark indicates, will indeed increase. Very possibly your torrent is taking lots of juice, but it could as well be some virus.

Hello shirish,
BOINC is supposed to run at lowest priority. It sounds as though some process on your computer (maybe the torrent) is hogging all the CPU cycles. Always a good idea to run at 100% when you are competing with another process, so you are doing the right thing there. Lawrence |

The most interesting thing it started working after a day. For a whole day it did nothing. I took a break from crunching for a day. The next day it started as if nothing happened. I wish I could have had logs for several days so I could send patterns & people can see what is going on. |

Hello shirish,
That sounds like a problem that HPF2 has. It can get stuck in a loop. If you shut it down and start over from the last check point it goes to completion. Was it HPF2 that you were running? Lawrence |
