Sorry, I think that's a feature too far, Scribe - it would break the recent threads contract, and it would require significant developer time. So, not only do I think it's a bad idea, I don't think WCG could do it even if they agreed with you. You don't have to read them.... Sorry but I did not suggest it, Sekerob did in the post above mine! ![]() |

Oh, right. That wasn't quite what Sek meant - I think he was talking about the way private forums don't appear in the Recent Thread list when you are not logged in.
Anyway, my vote is for a public forum. All those private forums didn't help grid.org's reputation. Besides, I think seeing the reasons we crunch will be a powerful incentive to new members. |

Do whatever needs to be done to keep those threads in one place. I'm not bothered whether it's public or private, but the separate individual threads shouldn't be mixed in with the other stuff.
It may have a slow start as and when people find it. I personally don't see any need to use it myself just yet, but that will probably change from August onwards. |

There are a number of us who would like to see a 'Caring and Sharing' forum being made available. A place where we can post about friends and family who suffer from Cancer, and other illnesses, and more importantly, support others who are struggling with these illnesses. There used to be a 'Caring Sharing' forum at UD, and still is on several other boards. I hope that it can be set up. Thanks in advance Thanks for sending this JP! Sound good to me GM! You all got my vote ![]() |

Well it seems so far that most folks are in favour of this - so how about we now have some suggestions as to what we would like to see this new forum section called?

The suggested "Caring and Sharing" title of this thread sounds like a good name to me (IMHO). As for judging whether or not people use it.... even if not many actually post to it, it may be a very good support system for those going thru similar tramas to be able to read and know they are not alone. And for those who have by some miracle not been touched by serious illness or disease, simply reading others stories could serve to remind us all "There but for the Grace of God go I" |

Nothing wrong with that name, but I was wondering whether as this is a new place to Grid, then perhaps a different name to the one used at Grid.org should be used so that everyone here whether ex-grid or otherwise can properly identify with it, make it unique to this place, and all feel that it is our home? |
