I would like to know why I have all these other projects downloaded to my PC when I have checked that I only want to work on the Aids project.
----------------------------------------I ran UD for 4 years on the cancer project and all of the sudden it would not connect to the UD server. After a week I started looking and found out UD went commercial, no notice, no e-mail no nothing. Sounds like the Bush boys are running this company now; a bunch of money grubbers who have only the interest of making big bucks at the cost to the to the poor sucker who will die because they can't afford the cure after you use all the free time on my pc for profit. -- Edited for inappropriate language - nelsoc [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at May 15, 2007 2:21:04 PM] |

UD always was commercial. They never gave the real details of why they pulled the plug on their grid.org project.
Anyway; enough about that. What other projects are you talking about? If you selected FightAIDS@Home, then you will get work from that project. However, if you were already doing work from a different project when you changed your options, you will have to wait for it to complete and then your next work unit should be from FightAIDS. |

Please go read the "About Us" before you act like someone with a room temperature I.Q. World Community Grid is making technology available only to public and not-for-profit organizations Do you worry about the "Black Helicopters" also? (and uncheck the box "If there is no work available for my computer for the projects I have selected above, please send me work from another project")

Hello Sam R. DePauw,
----------------------------------------Here is the thread where people wonder 'what happened' at grid.org: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=12946 There are many guesses, but nobody knows. As Didactylos states, when you first sign up at WCG, you automatically start receiving all projects until you set 'My Projects'. So everything should soon be going according to your preferences. Added: We did have a hiccup today, as I mentioned in this thread earlier today: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=9277#100117 We have just finished one cancer project and should be starting a new cancer project in a few months. There is yet another cancer project behind that one in the pipeline, but it is hard to guess just when it will be ready. There are things that need taking care of both here and on the project scientists' end. Be sure to look over the project minimum requirements at http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/help/viewTopic.do?shortName=minimumreq and read the RESEARCH section of the website. Welcome aboard!
