[ Rules of English or Why English is so Hard to Learn quote]  Love it!! Our language is so similar it is a wonder we communicate at all.  Or to paraphrase A people seperated by a common language. I have to wonder given 500 years will our language differences grow smaller or larger. I have to think with globalization the differences would shrink but then if you are to ever listen to a person from Boston and a person from New Orleans speak ENGLISH you would have to almost swear neither do so. We may end up with 100's of dialects with little in common outside the very basic core |
