Re: Formula One 2007 Season

Yes

The latest news from the hospital is that the Pole has no broken bones. He is staying in hospital under observation in case there are any questions with concussion but it seems that he is not seriously hurt.
There will still be questions about whether he can race next weekend in Indianapolis but if he is not cleared to race, it is almost certain that his replacement will be Timo Glock.

Re: Formula One 2007 Season

I was away visiting daughter No 1 for lunch and so on so didn't get to see the Hamilton first but it certainly kept up its reputation for accidents.

There seem to be thoughts around that it may be thought too down at heel for future races unless someone can come up with the dosh to do some serious upgrading. Apparently, even parts of the track were cracking up.

Re: Formula One 2007 Season

the report about a broken leg was wrong but thats what I heard
just amazing he came out alive I thought the worst horific crash....
Safety Issues
I dont wish to see anyone hurt at the races but the old saying the throttle works both ways is true .The walls so close to the track with no run off like the modern tracks wide open spaces mean you cannot afford to make a mistake .Sanatised tracks dont apeal the indy racing on banked ovals is awesome speed ,sound and power quite something the cars set up to go fast turn & left They dont Race if it rains We do. no tyre warmers there so they have to take care when they come out of the pits in a pit stop four guys change the wheels not 18 swarming all over the car ,Thats one end of the spectrum the other albeit with different vehcles is the TT on the IOM 180MPH down village streets some straw bales protecting stone walls and lamp posts (for cars this equates to Monaco )there should be a mid point where safety is in balance without to many nanny rules .The track breaking up should be fixable whatever the climate year round .My favourite circuit is Spa Francochamps the September race , real roads ,Hills ,Hairpins and fast straights
The spectators can be quite close to the action in safety and broken/crashed cars can be recovered without stopping the race and deploying the safety car from most points onthe curcuit .
Hamiltons race efforts to build up decent leads foiled by each SC appearnce others it helped included Sato who I thought had a good race one determined driver .
Just my random rambling thoughts folks

No, from the beginning of this season the first to replace Kubica was Sebastian Vettel.

Re: Formula One 2007 Season

Results of the first practice seem to show the McLarens are still the cars to beat with BMW beginning to challenge Ferrari.

I think my money's on Alonso.

Re: Formula One 2007 Season

But, when the chips were down, Hamilton again managed to pip his team mate to be on pole for the second race running.

Looking forward to tomorrow. It's still one of the top sports I can get without paying for Sky.
