Right Ivan

Ross Brawn said Honda's entire car design had been re-evaluated after the team finished eighth in last year's constructors' championship with six points - 198 behind winner Ferrari.

Brawn said the new RA108 car was "a wholly different concept to its predecessors, in terms of its aerodynamic layout and mechanical structure."

He said the chassis had been altered to interact with new aerodynamic features and the suspension, which would also allow for more upgrades throughout the season. The gearbox has also been changed.

"With traction control and other driver aids removed from the car, there will be a greater emphasis on driver skill
Honda chief executive officer Nick Fry said the Nov. 26 arrival of Brawn, the former Ferrari and Benetton technical director, had brought new impetus and confidence to the team.

Yes was well ahead of his competitors at Circuit de Catalunya , he completed his fastest lap in 1.22.263, over half a second ahead of Renault driver Fernando Alonso. The Red Bull team raised a few eyebrows as the team introduced a radical new engine cover.

A total of eight Formula 1 teams travelled to Circuit de Catalunya, near Barcelona, for a three-day test session at the Spanish track. There were a number of incidents today of which one was a heavy high-speed crash by Kazuki Nakajima entering turn one. The Japanese Williams driver crashed head-first into the tyre barriers but was able to climb out of his car without any problems fortunately.
A wing mounting failure caused the crash. The team decided not to quit running for the day until the problem can be solved.

Giancarlo Fisichella surprised a few as the Italian completed the fourth fastest lap in Spain with the Force India F1 team.

Testing in Spain will continue on Saturday.

Yes. Torro Rosso managed to get the top two slots on today's practice.
But, then one has to read the small print to see that they put some circuits in to practice qualifying with a minimum fuel load!

Re: The Formula One Thread

What is it with Spain and these racist taunts?

Coloured footballers have suffered for some time but now Hamilton. It really is unbelievable that it can be tolerated.
