Hey,
I've got a P4 HT @ 3.2 Ghz running but its only at 50% CPU Load and I don't get very much results send back. I had seen a slution on the grid.org forum but I forgotten it and its gone now. I'm using XP and the UD Agent. Grtz Jim |

HyperThreading doesn't really double your processing power. Basically, the 50% is Windows lying to you.
If you migrate to BOINC, you can run work on both virtual CPUs, but the actual performance increase will vary between none and very little. If you want to give it a try, there are straightforward instructions here: http://www.wcgwiki.org/en/boinc/migration.cfm |

Hm, I don't wanna use the BOINC rather, but strange is that that P4 HT @ 3,2 Ghz send just as much results back as my 850 Mhz AMD Duron 10.

That is odd.
Have you used the throttle tool so that UD is using 100% of the physical CPU? Are you running any other CPU intensive programs? Don't go by result count. Some results are bigger than others. Use points to compare different computers on a fair basis. |

I have used that tool and it worked on all the other machines but my AMD 850 Mhz gaining more points than the P4 @ 3,2 Ghz
Only internet (habbo) thats it. |

I have used that tool and it worked on all the other machines but my AMD 850 Mhz gaining more points than the P4 @ 3,2 Ghz The AMD machines have a better floating point register and clock speed does not exactly correspond to Intel. That means that indeed they can do more with less. Three AMD 2.4GHz machines here provide a total of nearly 70 GC workunits per day.Only internet (habbo) thats it.

don't use BOINC 'cause of the one floating point on CPU for both virtual cores!
----------------------------------------just leave it to crunch...as it is! & next time buy a AMD... |
