Just finished Juliet, Naked by Nick Hornby. Good easy read in his usual light humourous vein.

Lords of the North from Bernard Cornwell. A superb saga on events in the north of England in the historical period of the 9th century. I have read all of the war books by Spike Milligan and started on those by Bernard Cornwell.I have just put down Sharpe's Tiger and picked up Sharpe's Triumph. |

Just finished heliopolis by James Scudamore. This was on the Booker Long List and a very well written and gripping book.

Finished reading the book from Barack Obama : The audacity of Hope.
----------------------------------------I enjoyed reading this excellent book and frankly I am still surprised that someone with his personality and vision did manage to become president and stay alive. It seems that the american democracy this time has really worked. Nevertheless there is a negative point for a senator who had the willingness to become the President of all americans. In his book, issues related to the blacks, whites, hispanics, asians are analyzed. But there is not a single word about the american indians and their problems. Not one word (if I am not wrong and did not miss anything). Maybe he discussed this issue in other books but this book is about Hope and so this is for every single US citizen, natives being the natural de facto citizens. ![]() |

Just finished reading 'The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets' Nest' the third (and last) in the Stieg Larsson Millennium series.
It's another chunky and very enjoyable read and I shall have withdrawal symptoms. |
