Good news - for earthworms!

"In a series of experiments on earthworms, a team of scientists at the Salk Institute in San Diego, California, have identified for the first time a gene, known as PHA-4, which plays a critical role in prolonging life without tapping into insulin-regulating neural pathways that also control the ageing process."

Re: Good news - for earthworms!

Thanks.

Here is another article that also talks about Sir-2 gene and other anti-aging pathways - from Science Daily - http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2007/05/070502143834.htm

Note, Sir-2 seems to be increased by consumption of resveratrol - see http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2007/02/070208131737.htm
