I have 2 machines
one is pentium 2 450 with 384 ram the second one is pentium 4 2.4 G 1gig ram wich system is the best one to install to run mostly on cancer but idel time could be used with other projects thank you in advance for your help new here used to be on grid.org |

Hands down. yes it is better! 1. but don't use the 2jobs on BOINC, even though you have HT computer! 2. the HCD uses about 1-1.5GB of RAM...so be my guest! -> hence i sellected all the projects...and run them as they come to computer...and even the GC project helps for cancer (which the P2@450 will probably run)! |

Help Defeat Cancer (HDC) is past tense, so better un-select it as it somehow is causing an issue.....there is no more work for the project. To be exact, the 1-1.5gb RAM is was RAM+VM (virtual memory!).
----------------------------------------Anyway: The P2, if fast enough can do Genome Comparison and FightAIDS@home and Human Proteome Folding Phase 2 (projects running per today). The P4 can do the above hands down, but if a HT type (Hyperthreading), go to your website device profile and select the max CPU to be 1. With 2 it works but it doubles the memory needs! To do that go: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/ms/device/v...iguration.do?name=Default and enter in the field: On multiprocessors, at most use: 1 processors. Hit Save and Update in the Project tab of the BOINC agent advanced view. If you want to do Help Cure Muscular Dystrophy (phase 1), you need the WCG(UD) agent. See the Systems Requirement page for the Operatings Systems and Project minimum needs.
